CHRIS CRAFT
Chris-Craft is an American private manufacturing
company of marine motor boats which the
headquartered is in Sarasota, Florida, USA.
The company was founded in the late 19th century
by Christopher Columbus Smith and his brother Hank.
In the year 2000, Chris-Craft’s parent company,
Outboard Marine Corp., goes bankrupt and the
assets of the company are purchased at auction
by Irwin M. Jacobs, who then resells the brand
and the rights associated with two enthusiasts
Stephen Julius and Steve Heese, who will acquire
also in 2004 the famous Indian motorcycle brand.
